About the Ham Radio Exhibit

It's about serving our community

The NC Ham Radio Exhibit is not affiliated with any one club or organization. It is supported by volunteers from all over the state. Every year some 30+ volunteers run the exhibit, representing over 25 ham radio clubs and the hobby in general.

Our message is simple. We are promoting the benefits and importance of ham radio in all communities. When police and fire are no longer able to communicate, when cell towers are down, and when nothing else is working, ham radio is there.

We are the men and women who ensure that our communities can connect when we need it the most - during natural disasters. History has demonstrated the importance of ham radio time and time again; the fires in Hawaii, the devastating floods in Western NC during Helene, and countless hurricanes throughout the Eastern region. Ham radio operators have come to the rescue using their own personal equipment to to connect families with loved ones, assist response crews with search and rescue and welfare checks, and much more.

Come learn more about the importance of ham radio in your community, and how you can get involved!
